Principles of Conducting a Byzantine Choir, Second Boston Byzantine Music Festival
Expert cantor John Michael Boyer led the workshop “Principles of Conducting a Byzantine Choir” at the second Boston Byzantine Music Festival, November 14–15, 2014. The master class highlighted the techniques choir directors use to craft unity, power, and beauty in the performance of traditional Byzantine chant. Following the introductory remarks viewed here, participants led one another in short performances and received feedback from Mr. Boyer.
