Great Doxology, Second Boston Byzantine Music Festival
Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Byzantine Choir performing “Great Doxology” at the second Boston Byzantine Music Festival, November 14–15, 2014. The Great Doxology consists of the hymn “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill among men” and a series of psalmic verses. It is chanted at the end of Orthros service on Sundays and on major feast days. This setting by Petros the Peloponnesian (1735–1778) is in the third mode.
